The Soup Recipe (from neboleem)

Cook until golden:

  • 6 medium onions
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Add:

  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 tbsp ground thyme
  • 1/2 a head of garlic

Add water and simmer 10 minutes.

Then, add:

  • 4 medium carrots
  • A head of celery
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 2-3 medium tomatoes (or 1 big one)
  • A small head of cabbage

Add water over the vegetables, then add:

  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp ground coriander seeds
  • 1-2 chopped spicy peppers
  • Some grated ginger
  • A pack of coriander
  • A pack of parsley
  • A pack of green onions

Let boil and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the vegetables are cooked.


No-Salt Replacement (from Big Bear’s Wife)

  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp ground mustard
  • 5 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Verdict: smells good, doesn’t really work on cucumbers, I guess it made the soup slightly more palatable. Never actually used it.

  • Topside beef
  • Rosemary
  • 6 Cloves Garlic sliced thin
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Celery
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • Parsley
  • Green Onions
  • Baby Bok Choi
  • Pepper

Push in garlic and rosemary into the meat. Simmer in water for three hours with vegetables.

Verdict: Tastes surprisingly good. Still makes you wish you had salt.
